Sweeping will take place from Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., through Wednesday, November 30. It will stop on city holidays.
Mechanical street cleaning is an effective tool in reducing litter from city streets and preventing trash and debris from entering the water systems, according to the municipality.

Signing for drivers
The Streets Department has posted signs to alert drivers to move their vehicles during cleaning times in six of the 14 pilot areas. There won’t be no-parking rules in Kensington, North Central, South, Southwest, Strawberry Mansion and West.
Also, the department will be installing signs over the course of the season in the remaining eight areas. Residents should anticipate a 30-day warning period following the installation of any new signage and move vehicles as indicated.
Neighbours should follow “no parking” signs. The goal is to allow mechanical brooms to clean the roadways from curb to curb at the planned time. City will schedule cleaning times on alternate days to minimize inconvenience to the residents.
