Pennsylvania officials reported that the online voter registration website has been restored after a weekend outage.
Due to an equipment failure at a data center managed by Unisys for the commonwealth, multiple commonwealth agencies, including the Department of State, experienced an outage of many online services that began late Saturday afternoon.
Service was restored Monday morning to the state’s voter services website, pavoterservices.pa.gov.

Once the failure affecting the voter registration website was identified technicians immediately began to work on plans for recovery. “We are working around the clock with our vendors to bring services back online as quickly as possible. We will continue to do so until operations are fully restored,” said Secretary of Administration Michael Newsome Sunday evening.

Newsome said that during the outage the affected agencies activated their continuity plans and provided additional information to customers of the impacted services.
Officials said they have not found any malicious physical or cyber activity, or that any loss of data has occurred.
“The outage was due to an issue with the contractor’s equipment, and there is no evidence of malicious interference,” Secretary Kathy Boockvar said. “All data was backed up, as always.”
