From the time he announced he was a candidate for the presidency, Trump’s true feelings about Hispanics and all foreigners became clear. He attacked Mexicans as rapists, he banned Muslims from coming to the United States, and he has escalated his attacks on immigrants at every rally, through tweeter and in his comments to the media. Looking back over the decades of Donald Trump’s road to fame it is easy to put together a profile of the man as an ambitious individual, eager to create fame for himself, determined to plaster his name on buildings and in the headlines. On his way to enriching himself he also sold his soul to Dictators and billionaires. He was never a Republican and was known to support Hillary Clinton and other Democrats. It has been written that his fragile ego was injured when Barack Obama called him by name and said facetiously that it was a big deal worrying about who would be fired from The Apprentice,” Trump’s successful television reality show. “That would keep me up at night,” said Obama. It has been reported that he was so incensed by the putdown that he decided right then and there to run for the presidency. He certainly spent enough time attacking Obama during the election and after his narrow victory, asserting repeatedly that he would make it his mission to get rid of Obamacare. Trump had to be angry that Obama made fun of him on several levels, not the least because he was the first black president and because of his popularity.
A president he has never retreated from his negative view of the world that has led to his politics of isolationism, jingoism and overt racism. After the attack on Mexicans, he attacked a judge for being a member of a minority race, attacked the investigation of the 2016 election and the nomination of Robert Mueller to preside over it as a “witch hunt.” Embraced Vladimir Putin attributing more credibility to him than to American intelligence in his denial of interfering in the election of 2016. He continues to deny Putin’s involvement and at one point, during a press conference with the two of them made fun, asking Putin mockingly not to interfere. He has no fear of controversy at this point and actually relishes the clashes with minorities, Congress, and the courts. He has already shaped the courts to his satisfaction and has plenty of time left to do more damage. And he has adopted a confrontational approach to The Squad, Elijah Cummings, the Reverend Al Sharpton and the mayors of the big cities that are run by the Democratic Party. We can count on more attacks at all his rallies, where he feels totally comfortable in expressing outrageous opinions about his favorite subjects. GOP leaders have failed to censor him. Pelosi doesn’t want impeachment. There is only one thing to do and it is to defeat him in 2020. Let’s remember all the reasons he is not qualified as we go to vote.
