We have heard many times what the president says about his enormous intelligence–he said he is a “stable genius,” and he claims to know more that the generals or the intelligence community about diplomacy, war, global markets, economic policy, building walls, and more. In a wide-ranging interview the president attacked the Fed, GM subsidies, Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the media, and even his idol Vladimir Putin. The president said that he didn’t approve of Putin’s aggression and that he might not meet with the Russian dictator at the G-20 meeting in Argentina.
He says his gut tells him that what the scientists are saying about global warming is not true. A new U.N. report warns that we have “12 years to limit climate change catastrophe.” But once more the president believes that he knows more than the scientists who put together the report. “The oceans are very small,” said Trump, even thought the oceans cover 70% of the globe, but he cannot be bothered with facts because he has his own alternate reality, and in the world he is infallible and he would do more to change the world in spite of the constitution, the Justice Department, Congress, the Supreme Court and the elected officials from California to New York.
The UN report states that urgent changes are required to cut the risk of extreme heat, drought, floods and poverty.” Trump removed the United States from the Paris agreement on climate, and therefore this country is not leading the way towards those changes, but instead serving as an obstacle and promoting that global catastrophe mentioned by the scientists from all over the world. Trump’s supreme ignorance on the question of global warming threatens to harm the whole planet. Will Congress stop the madness?
