During a visit on Thursday at the Owens & Minor distribution center in Allentown, Pennsylvania, President Donald Trump talked about the coronavirus situation in the United States. He explained the high number of COVID-19 cases as a result of a large amount of testing being done across the country.
“Don’t forget, we have more cases than anybody in the world. But why? Because we do more testing,” Trump said. “When you test, you have a case. When you test, you find something is wrong with people. If we didn’t do any testing, we would have very few cases.”
The President took about an hour tour of the facility that produces medical and surgical supplies and he did not wear a protective mask during his visit.

Trump announced a new initiative to replenish the strategic national stockpile of medical equipment. He emphasized the fact that they are manufactured domestically.
“The U.S. government will now stockpile three whole months, much of it made in the USA,” the national leader said.
He explained the lack of equipment early on during the outbreak by blaming the previous administration.”Under the previous administration the stockpile was depleted,” he said.
“You have to get your governor of Pennsylvania to start opening up a little bit. You have areas that are barely affected and they want to keep them closed,” Trump said.
Although the Democratic Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has begun a program of easing pandemic restrictions, Trump also criticized Wolf’s role in this matter.
