A Tragedy in Kensington. A fire that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, April 24, in a house located in the 3000 block of Hartville Street caused the death of three children and a male adult, apparently of Hispanic descent, and possibly the father of the deceased kids.
According to Philadelphia Fire Department Capt. Derek Bowmer, firefighters arrived at the house in flames at 2 a.m.; They found “heavy” flames on the first and second floors of the residence.
It was learned that a woman jumped from the second floor and is currently being monitored at a local hospital. When the fires were finally put out, firefighters discovered three children and a man dead inside, Bowmer said.

Fire Commissioner Adam Thiel said the cause of the fire at Hartville Street is under investigation. He informed that residents were renting the house.
Regarding the victims, one of the children was in preschool and another was in third grade at Lewis Elkin Elementary School, Principal Charlotte Maddox said during a press conference covered by Telemundo62.
The Philly Fire Department recorded 1,422 EMS incidents over the weekend, as well as 279 fire incidents and 10 working fires.
