On this and other topics we will talk extensively on Thursday, May 7, at 5:00 p.m., with Councilwoman María Quiñones-Sánchez, who represents the Seventh District on the General Council of the City of Brotherly Love.
It will be broadcast on Facebook Live in an interview with journalist Cata Perez for El Sol Latino Newspaper. The “self-sufficient leader of the Democratic Party”, was the first Latina to be elected to a position within the General Council and her presence at City Council dates back to 2008.
Maria Quiñones-Sanchez was born in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and moved to the mainland in the 1960s with her mother and siblings.
Her close contact with the Latino communities makes her a reliable source of information on how the pandemic has impacted the lives of Hispanics. It will also handle dialogue lines related to unemployment, the process of reopening the city and on the segmentation of epidemiological data that indicate that the African American population is more vulnerable to the virus and about 57% of the dead who were tenants in long-term care homes for the elderly.
