According to The Hill editor Morgan Chalfant, the United States government detected an armed forces disincorporated human resource that would have been recruited as a spy by the Iranian government.
The tensions between Washington and Tehran are becoming more intense to the point that the US military forces stationed in the Middle East are concentrating on their base in Iraq, where they have created a watchtower to observe the Iranian government movements.
As stated in the publication, Trump government revealed on Wednesday criminal charges against a former Air Force intelligence agent who was allegedly recruited by the Iranian government to spy on the United States.
According to data provided by The Hill, the defendant is Monica Witt. As reported by Trump´s administration officials, after leaving the Air Force, she worked for a US defense contractor and handled highly classified information.
She was accused of delivering national defense information to a foreign government and a charge of conspiracy.
The indictment also involves four of Witt’s alleged Iranian conspirators with cybercrimes for attacking former Witt´s colleagues of the US government on behalf of the Iran Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.
