Thursday, June 18, Deputy Mayor for the newly minted Philadelphia Office of Children and Families (OCF), Cynthia Figueroa will talk via Facebook Live with El Sol Latino, an Hispanic Media product.
The meeting will be hosted by El Sol Latino TV journalist Catalina Perez, who will ask Figueroa about her new role and how this office works to ensure that policies, resources and services for children and families are aligned and coordinated,with the Philadelphia School District.
As Deputy Mayor for the Office of Children and Families, Figueroa monitors the expansion of the City’s PHLpreK and Community Schools programs. Additionally, she has established a Children and Families Cabinet of municipal leaders from different departments.
Before her appointment as Deputy Mayor, she served as commissioner of the Philadelphia Department of Human Services (DHS), which means she has dedicated her career to helping improve the lives of vulnerable children and families.
In parallel, Figueroa will explain the advances in the programs regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and last week demonstrations.
