Another violent event hits the city. Authorities in Philadelphia reported the murder of a pregnant woman by gunfire. Her newborn baby also died.The shooting occured Friday night in North Philadelphia.
The pregnant woman and a man in his 40s.were inside a minivan near 9th and Dauphin streets when three men shot at them, striking the woman in the chest and the man in the left shoulder and chest. The shooting happened shortly before 6 p.m.
The pregnant woman was shot once in the chest. She was taken to Temple University hospital hospital by the man who had been shot in the chest and left shoulder.

The woman was identified as Ishan Charmidah Rahman, 39. An emergency C-section surgical procedure was performed at the hospital but the baby was pronounced dead, according to police.
Officials said the man who transported the woman to the hospital is listed in critical condition.
Investigators have not arrested anyone in connection with the shooting. Investigators said a weapon was recovered from the scene.
