The New Jersey Department of Health’s Public Health and Food Protection Program issued a recall of Guida’s brand milk in public school cafeterias that may content sanitizer.
At least 25 children were hospitalized due to the presence of peroxyacetic sanitizer inGuida’s 1% Lowfat Milk, code dated 09-183 Apr 11 B2. Other code dates of Guida’s milk may be affected as well, according to the emergency notice.
NJ Public Health and Food Protection Program request all local health departments to check the state school cafeterias for the presence of Guida’s brand milk, of any type, size, and code date, and issue an embargo or otherwise prohibit the distribution of the milk.

Contaminated milk at Early Childhood Development Center
The Official account of Camden City School District in NJ reported via Twitter that, in the morning of Wednesday, March 30, they were investigating a possible contamination of milk at the Early Childhood Development Center.
“It was determined that the substance found in the cartons is a non-toxic consumable sanitizer that runs through the vendor machines prior to milk,” says the tweet, without specifying whether is Guida milk.
No students were reported ill but were sent to the hospital as a precaution.
According to Camden City School, District, the affected cartons were filled with the sanitizer, sealed, and then shipped out with the milk. No milk will be served until the investigation is completed.
