According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Mount Holly, a late-season coastal storm will hit New Jersey and Delaware areas between Monday, April 18 afternoon and Tuesday, April 19 early.
Wet snow is anticipated to accumulate in the southern Poconos. Therefore, a total snowfall of 3-5″ is predicted for the storm, with locally greater amounts possible in the highest elevations.
Minor coastal flooding is likely to occur on the Atlantic coast, Delaware Bay, and the tidal Delaware River. Sussex (DE), Kent (DE), and Cape May Counties are predicted to experience moderate coastal flooding. In the same way, spotty mild coastal flooding is probable in New Jersey’s Ocean, Monmouth, and Middlesex Counties.

Also, easterly winds of 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are forecast throughout Delaware and New Jersey’s Atlantic and Delaware Bay beaches.
Widespread minor coastal flooding is expected across the Atlantic coast, Delaware Bay, and tidal Delaware River. Moderate coastal flooding is expected in Sussex (DE), Kent (DE), and Cape May Counties. Similarly, spotty moderate coastal flooding is possible in Ocean, Monmouth, and Middlesex Counties in New Jersey.
Gale force winds are forecast along the whole Atlantic coast and in Delaware Bay. Rainfall quantities of 1-1.5″ are expected across the region, although any freshwater flooding risks are expected to be limited.
