The man who allegedly stabbed two employees at New York’s MoMA was arrested in Philadelphia on Tuesday March 15, New York Police Department (NYPD) said on Twitter.

According to the authorities, “Joseph Cabana” registered a room at the at the Best Western Plus Philadelphia Convention Center Hotel on Monday night and started a fire inside.

Investigators recognized Cabana on the surveillance video as the wanted suspect of the MoMA stabbings on Saturday 12.

Police found Cabana sleeping on a bench at a bus station on Tuesday after midnight and apprehended him.

On Saturday March 12, the suspect stabbed a 24-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man inside MoMA. Both are employees of the famous museum. The aggressor wounded the woman at her back and neck; the man got a wound to his collarbone. Both victims are in stable condition.

The man, registered as “Gary Cabana”, was previousluy denied entry due to his revoked membership before, apparently because of previous incidents according to the NYPD.

MoMA is one of the most important art museums in the world. It’s located at Midtown Manhattan, at 11 West and 53rd Street and between Fifth and Sixth Avenue, New York.
