In an effort to reach vulnerable communities, the Philadelphia Health Department opened Wednesday its fifth mass vaccination clinic. The new site is, located at the Grand Yesha Ballroom on Snyder Avenue. According to a Fox29 report, the new site can administer up to 500 vaccinations a day.
Residents who want to get vaccinated can pre-register at the clinic or visit Philadelphia’s website. Officials said walk-up appointments will be available at community clinics on days when pre-registered appointments are not full.
Dr. Thomas Farley has said that they have found vacant appointments and their efforts aim to avoid COVID-19 vaccine shots to be wasted. “We have found that in some of our community clinics there are vacant appointments, there are open appointments, and we don’t want to make this opportunity go to waste. So for some of our community clinics where there have been vacant appointments we have taken walk-ups.”
